Corporate tax is fixed in the ledger, not in the return

التساؤل

Is corporate tax calculated on revenue or on net profit?

الإجابة

Short answer: on net accounting profit after tax adjustments, not on revenue. Revenue is only the starting point — costs and eligible expenses are deducted from it, and specific items (such as partner-director pay or disallowed expenses) are added back or excluded to arrive at the actual taxable base under Law 47.

In the UAE, corporate tax is not a form filled at period-end. The base comes from the books: revenue, cost, partner-director pay, and adjustments.

RASEEKH starts with live bookkeeping, then Law 47 readiness, then the filing. That is how serious audit and accounting files are built here: one file, with tax as an output — not the other way around.
