You just filed your first corporate tax return — what happens next?
You just filed your first corporate tax return — what happens next?
After you submit your return on the EmaraTax portal, the FTA accepts it as an initial filing — that doesn't mean it's been fully reviewed. The FTA can request clarification or supporting documents (financial statements, the general ledger, specific contracts) at a later point, so those documents need to already be organized and on hand, not gathered in a scramble when requested. If the return shows tax due, payment is required by the same filing deadline, not sometime after.
What surprises most business owners about their first return is that a mistake or omission can still be fixed through a clarification request instead of waiting for next year — which is far cheaper than having the FTA catch the discrepancy itself. At RASEEKH, we stay with you after filing until the review window actually closes, not just until the return is submitted.
