A worked example: how is corporate tax actually calculated?
If a company earns AED 900,000 of taxable net profit in a financial year, how is the tax actually calculated? The first AED 375,000 is fully exempt (0%), so tax applies only to the difference: 900,000 minus 375,000 = AED 525,000. Tax due = 525,000 times 9% = AED 47,250 — not 900,000 times 9% (AED 81,000), which is how some business owners mistakenly calculate it.
That gap between the two figures (81,000 versus 47,250) is exactly the kind of error that makes a company significantly overpay, or the reverse — miscalculate it the other way and fall into a filing violation. At RASEEKH, we make sure the taxable base is computed correctly from the books first, then the threshold and rate are applied the right way.
