My free zone licence is about to expire — what do I need to get ready?

Renewal generally requires: a copy of the current licence, a valid lease or virtual office agreement, passport and ID copies for partners and shareholders, residence visa copies where applicable, the Corporate Tax Registration Certificate from the Federal Tax Authority — now required across most free zones — and sometimes an annual audit report — some zones such as DMCC require this as a standing annual obligation for nearly all entities, while others such as JAFZA tie it to the specific entity type or activity. The most practical timing is to start gathering documents around 45-60 days before the licence expires, and actually submit the renewal application at least 30 days before expiry, to avoid any processing delays.
